How a project actually runs here
It starts with a free consultation at the property, with no obligation attached. We walk the yard, take real measurements, and look at what decides a layout before taste does: the grade and where water runs, what the ground will bear under footings, how material gets into the yard, which door you use, where the late-afternoon sun lands. A plan drawn from a rough sketch changes on site, and that is how a price moves after you sign.
Then we model it in 3D and AutoCAD. Every project, not the large ones. You approve the exact layout, board colour, railing style and stair placement while changing any of it still costs nothing, and the written price is set against that finished design rather than a description of one. The same drawings are what a City of Ottawa permit application needs, so the design work is not done twice.
Four trades, one company
We build decks in composite, cedar, pressure-treated and PVC; fences and gates in wood, composite, vinyl and aluminium, including pool-code enclosures; interlock patios, walkways, driveways and retaining walls; and outdoor structures such as pergolas, outdoor kitchens, cabanas and custom garages. We also repair, strip and re-stain existing decks.
That matters more than a list usually does, because most backyards are not one trade. A deck stepping down to a paver patio with a pergola over it and a privacy fence closing the line is four jobs if you hire four companies, and one drawing here. We install the material lines we rate for this climate, including Trex, Fiberon, TimberTech, Azek and Clubhouse in decking and Techo-Bloc and Permacon in stone. Installing them is an endorsement of the product, not a certification from the manufacturer.
Built for the freeze and thaw
Ottawa is not hard on outdoor construction because of the cold. It is hard because of the number of times a year water gets into something, freezes, expands and thaws again. That one cycle is behind almost every failure we are called out to look at: footings pushed up by frost, fasteners worked loose, end grain going soft, a slab cracked because a rigid sheet has nowhere to put the movement. So footings go below the frost line, stone goes on a base deep enough to drain, and boards are chosen for how they behave in year ten rather than in the showroom.
What we stand behind, and what we will not claim
We are licensed and insured, with the licence available on request, and we are a family-owned, locally owned Ottawa business. Every build is backed by a written workmanship warranty, with the exact terms in your project agreement rather than summarised on a web page. If spreading the cost helps, financing is available through iFinance, a third-party partner; it is their credit decision, not ours.
You will notice some things missing. There is no count of projects completed and no years-in-business badge, and that is deliberate: we would rather show you nothing than a number nobody has checked. The same rule governs the photographs. Our gallery is organised by the type of work rather than by neighbourhood, and no page here claims a photo was built at a particular address.
