Deck builder, Kanata & Stittsville.

Ottawa Decking Solutions is a licensed, insured deck, fence and interlock builder working across Ottawa’s west end, including Kanata and Stittsville. Every project is designed in 3D before a single board is cut.

Good to know

Kanata & Stittsville questions, answered.

Yes. Kanata is on our regular service area list, alongside the rest of Ottawa, so a deck, fence or interlock project on that side of the city is not a special trip for us and it does not carry an out-of-area charge. We handle it the way we handle any Ottawa project: a free consultation, an on-site visit to measure your yard and check the ground, then a 3D and AutoCAD design so you approve the exact layout, material and an honest price before a single board is cut. If your project needs a City of Ottawa building permit, we prepare the drawings and the application as part of the build. We are licensed, insured and family-owned, and every project is backed by a written workmanship warranty.

Yes, Stittsville is part of our regular service area and sits inside Ottawa city limits, so the same City of Ottawa permit process applies there as anywhere else in the city. The build process does not change either. We start with a free consultation and an on-site visit, then design your deck in 3D and AutoCAD so you see the exact layout, railing and board colour and approve an honest price before we build anything. A good number of Stittsville properties are in newer subdivisions on engineered fill, so we pay particular attention to footing depth and what the ground underneath will actually bear, which is decided during the site visit rather than over the phone.

It changes the part you cannot see afterwards, not the price or the process. Newer subdivisions are frequently built on engineered fill rather than long-settled ground, and a deck is only as stable as what its footings bear on. We set footings below the frost line and confirm the ground conditions during the on-site visit, because a deck that shifts in its first few winters is a structural problem rather than a surface one, and no amount of new decking holds it still. That is the same standard we build to across Ottawa. We mention it on the Kanata and Stittsville page because it is the question west-end homeowners ask most often.

Not tagged as such, no, and we would rather say that plainly than attach a location to a photo we cannot confirm. Our project gallery is currently organized by the type of work rather than by neighbourhood, so we cannot point at a specific image and tell you it was built in Kanata or Stittsville. What we can show you is our full gallery of real, finished Ottawa decks, fences and interlock work, built by the same crew, from the same materials, through the same 3D and AutoCAD design process we would use on your project. As we start tagging projects by location we will add verified west-end photos here instead of a general gallery link. In the meantime, book a free consultation and we will show you comparable recent work in person.
