Fences that hold the line, season after season.
Privacy, security and a finished backyard. We build custom wood, composite, vinyl and iron fences and gates (including pool-code aluminium fencing), planned around your property and built to last through Ottawa winters.
The plan
We build every fencing material, and design the whole thing in 3D before a single board is cut.
The right fence for your yard and your look.
Whether you want the warmth of cedar, the no-maintenance of vinyl or composite, or aluminium and iron fencing that meets pool-enclosure safety code, we design and build it to suit your home and your budget.
Custom wood fences
Cedar and pressure-treated privacy fencing, with posts set below the frost line so an Ottawa winter does not lift the line out of true by spring.
Composite fences
The same low-upkeep boards we use on decks, in fence form. Nothing to stain, and the colour stays consistent along the whole run instead of patching as it ages.
Vinyl fences
A clean, uniform line that never needs painting. Easy to rinse down, and it handles the road salt that gets thrown against fencing near a driveway.
Iron & aluminium pool fences
Powder-coated aluminium built to meet pool-enclosure safety rules, with self-closing and self-latching gates. Slim pickets keep the sightline to the water open.
Privacy fences and gates
Full-height panels, lattice tops and matching gates, laid out around your real property line and grade rather than a stock panel count.
Privacy, your way
Built for the height and look you want.

The Ottawa Decking difference
You see your fences in 3D, before we build.
We design it in 3D. Your space modeled in 3D and AutoCAD, so you change it on screen, not after it is framed.
You approve the plan. A clear design and an honest price up front, no surprises once we start.
One crew builds it. Framed true and finished to stand up to the freeze and thaw, backed by a written workmanship warranty.
On a sample $26,000 build. Real terms come from our financing partner, iFinance, never an offer of credit on this page.
Good to know
Fences questions, answered.
All four of our materials (wood, composite, vinyl, and iron or aluminium) can hold up well here when they are built and installed properly for Ottawa's freeze-thaw cycles, with posts set below the frost line so a hard winter does not lift the line out of true by spring. Aluminium and vinyl need the least upkeep and resist moisture and road salt well, composite resists rot and fading with just an occasional wash, and wood like western red cedar or pressure-treated lumber looks the most natural but wants occasional staining or sealing to hold its colour. Every fence is designed in 3D and AutoCAD first and backed by a written workmanship warranty, and we will walk you through the trade-offs for your yard, your budget and how much upkeep you want so you can choose with your eyes open.
Yes. We install pool-enclosure aluminium fencing built to meet pool-code requirements, which cover things like fence height, spacing between pickets, and self-closing, self-latching gates. Because a pool enclosure has to be right, we design it in 3D and AutoCAD first so you can approve the exact layout and see an honest price before we start. If your project needs a City of Ottawa permit, we handle the permit drawings and bylaw setbacks as part of the build. Powder-coated aluminium pickets keep the sightline to the water open while still meeting the safety spacing rules, which is why it is the material we recommend most often around a pool, and the same written workmanship warranty applies to every pool fence we install.
Fence height and placement are set by City of Ottawa bylaws, and the limits can differ between a front yard, a back yard, and a corner lot, so we always confirm the current rules for your specific property rather than assuming a neighbour's fence sets the standard. We design your fence to fit those rules and handle the bylaw setbacks and any permit drawings for you as part of the build. If privacy matters, we can plan solid wood, composite, or vinyl panels that block sightlines while still suiting your street, and a lattice or trellis top can add extra height for climbing plants without changing the look of a solid privacy run.
Some fences need a City of Ottawa permit and some do not, depending on height, location, and whether a pool is involved, and those thresholds can change, so we confirm the current rules rather than relying on what a neighbour built. We sort this out for you, preparing permit drawings where needed and respecting bylaw setbacks and your property line as part of the build. Because every project is drawn in 3D and AutoCAD first, you approve the exact placement, height and gate positions before anything is dug or built, so there are no surprises about where the line actually sits once the crew arrives.
Yes, gates are part of the design from the start, not an afterthought added once the panels are up. We build them to match your fence material and colour, size them for people, mowers, or wider vehicle access, and fit proper hinges and latches rated for daily use. For pool enclosures the gate is designed to be self-closing and self-latching so it meets pool-code, and we can add a keyed or coded latch if you want to control access without a visible lock. Every gate is part of the same 3D design and workmanship warranty as the rest of the fence.
Timelines depend on the length of the run, the material, ground conditions, and whether a permit is needed, so we give you a realistic schedule once the design is approved rather than a generic estimate. We offer a written workmanship warranty, with the exact terms set out in your signed project agreement, and materials like aluminium and vinyl typically carry their own manufacturer warranties as well. As a family-owned, locally owned, licensed and insured Ottawa company, we serve Kanata, Barrhaven, Orleans, Nepean, Stittsville, Gloucester and the wider Ottawa area, and financing is available through our third-party partner iFinance if you want to spread the cost of a longer run.
